Clip Two of a New Adventure: The Minimalist Fashionista on Lockdown: 'The Bad Batch', Twitter handles to follow and herbal tea

Today the sun is shining here, and it’s been eighteen days since all Italians were “forbidden” to go outside — only for food, medicines and essential work — by their leaders. From where I’m sitting, it’s a little too reminiscent of the Fascist movement, especially since there are still at least 8,000 people arriving each day at Fiumicino airport and not being put into quarantine. Makes us feel like fools, just a little bit, I tell you. Anyway, lets turn to entertainment.

The film I mentioned is Ana Lily Amirpour’s ‘The Bad Batch’ starring Suki Waterhouse, Jason Momoa, Jim Carrey and Keanu Reeves. You can read my interview with Amirpour, one of my favorites ever, from the film’s premiere in Venice. A dystopian adventure is exactly what is needed in this uncertain landscape — both financially and emotionally.

I personally feel we’ll all die of financial stress and depression before any of us contract COVID-19. But that’s a personal viewpoint.

The Twitter accounts I mentioned you should follow to guide you through these days are those of John Lurie, Manohla Dargis and Tom Hanks. Click on each name and follow. Humor, information and sanity, that’s how we’ll get through it.

The tea for today is Twining’s Lemon & Ginger, herbal and perfectly delicious, I add a half spoonful of honey and a spritz of fresh lemon juice. And warm, caffeine-free beverages are great for dry throats, which healthcare professionals agree are the perfect breeding ground for this virus.  Find more selection here.

For some exercise, here are videos of the perfect planks, which are great for strengthening all around and creating a tough core, so when we come out of this — Inshallah — we can all have fabulous midriffs just in time for the summer season. I also do three sets of ten “dead bugs” which you can find below. They are a great Pilates move which can be done on your bed if you don’t have a floor mat.

Stay home, stay strong and stay healthy. Till tomorrow!
