You don't have to be a grown up to wear Eton: Swedish shirt brand launches 'Minime' collection for kids
I’ve loved the Swedish brand Eton for as long as they have been on my radar. Their principles are all that I crave from a fashion brand and their ethics are divine. I mean, they treat everyone who works with them and for them well. Gotta love a fashion house that does that!
Now, under the creative direction of rockstar designer Sebastian Dollinger, Eton’s CCO, the company has added a tiny kids capsule line to their already impressive and always planet-conscious lineup. Minute versions of two of the company’s bestsellers — the denim shirt now turned into a dress for little girls, and a white unisex oxford — are at the core of this limited “Minime” collection.
Dollinger admitted, “to be a dad to a little girl and a baby boy truly puts things into perspective and has made me realize how important it is to be a role model for them. The idea with this collection is to highlight the importance of having someone inspiring to look up to.” The new collection is made from the finest cotton fibers in the world and with the same attention to detail and superior quality as the company’s regular shirt assortment.
Personally, I had a great role model growing up, my fashionista mom. She made me into the elegance-loving woman I am today and it’s something I thank her for every single day. Every time I open my closet and realize all the right choices I’ve made — and even some of the wrong ones, which taught me a whole lot — when it comes to dressing, I thank mom silently. So I deeply understand the power of finding an item of clothing to emulate my elders. I remember as a child wanting to wear what my mom wore and if a company had offered that chance to seven-year old me, goodness knows what that would have meant!
Seeing the images of Eton staff members and their children, and those beautiful little ladies and little gentlemen dressed in the crisp, minimalist fashions of the Swedish brand makes me happy. And with so little to make me happy, truly happy these days, I wanted to share it.
The new, online exclusive kids’ line launches June 12, on etonshirts.com and via selected online retailers.
