Jordan's wonder Lulua beauty balm and why you should own a jar too
Sometimes it’s great to find a product that satisfies many beauty needs and I think I’ve found that miracle salve within Lulua.jo’s prettily packaged balm.
I’m all about fashion and beauty, but with a minimalist twist. I’ve stopped lugging around — pardon the pun — big luggage through airports and train station and have been traveling with a carry on for the last two years. What that has done is reduce the amount of stuff I buy but also the amount of stuff I feel I absolutely need. You try it too, it is a great experiment in streamlining your life, fitting two weeks’ worth of clothes, make up and beauty supplies, plus a couple of pairs of shoes, in one tiny 22 by 14 inch suitcase. Life gets simpler once you do, trust me.
So when my dear, beautiful friend (who always has shiny perfect hair and a glowing complexion) gifted me a jar of Lulua’s Multi-Purpose Beauty Balm, I was kind of sold at “hello.” The product is handmade in Jordan by my friend’s mom, whom I’ve only seen in photos and she looks amazing too. She started it as a way to use something natural on her own skin and to gift to her friends and family members — who are all very lucky if you ask me! Every precious jar of this combination of plant oils, beeswax, resins, Shea and Argan butters comes enveloped in its own beautiful muslin cloth bag, hand embroidered by my friend’s mom! It feels and looks so precious that it is bound to become my go-to, single treatment for hair, skin and nails, which makes packing for the upcoming Venice Film Festival even simpler than usual. [ed. note: I’ve also just discovered that it takes off make up beautifully!]
Once I dipped the very hygienic wooden spatula which comes with every jar into the luxurious, smooth and fragrant balm, I could tell this was going to become an instant favorite, and the first time I used mine I warmed a bit between the palm of my hands and smoothed it all over my face and neck as a night cream. I did wake up a lot more glowy the following morning. And next time I’m going to wash my hair, I’ll smooth it over the ends a couple of hours before getting in the shower, to bond my split ends and make my hair more manageable. But this miracle balm’s many uses don’t stop there, so discover your own favorite uses for it — be it body moisturizer, foot or hand cream.
